Untitled Omakase... Curated by Lefty Out There
Renowned artist and Chicago native Lefty Out There makes his curatorial debut at VSG Contemporary with "Untitled Omakase," an eclectic showcase of 18 national and international contemporary artists, with a strong emphasis on graffiti and street art. This dynamic exhibition opens on Friday, September 27, and highlights artists from across the globe—many of whom will be exhibiting in Chicago for the first time.
Drawing from the Japanese concept of "Omakase," which translates to "I leave it up to you," this exhibition defies traditional thematic curation, instead entrusting each artist to create work purely from their own perspective and vision. The result is a powerful and diverse collection of contemporary art that transcends a single theme or direction, united by the trust Lefty Out There places in the artists' creative process.
Join us for a celebratory opening on Friday, September 27 from 6–10 PM, and experience the breadth of talent firsthand. As part of Chicago Exhibition Week, Lefty Out There will also host an exclusive Artist Meet & Greet on Saturday, October 5 from 12–3 PM, offering personalized tours and insights into his curatorial choices, the significance of each artist, and his long-term vision for their work.
