Chromatic Fields: solo show by Mason Pott
VSG Contemporary is pleased to present Chromatic Fields, the first formal solo exhibition with the gallery by Mason Pott. While Pott has been included in previous group exhibitions at VSG, this presentation marks a deeper commitment—his official introduction as a fully represented artist and the beginning of a long-term relationship with the gallery.
In December 2025, VSG presented a solo booth of Pott’s work at NADA Miami—our first art fair and an early signal of the strength and clarity of his practice. It is no secret that we consider him one of the most compelling painters working today.
The red and blue compositions featured in Chromatic Fields are the largest within this ongoing series, signaling both a formal expansion and a deepening of his investigation into color, light, and structure.
Each work begins with a hand-cut aluminum panel, shaped precisely to the contour of the bouquet it will hold. Pott then renders each composition in oil with extraordinary precision, employing a painterly language that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. The result is both timeless and immediate—collapsing still life, objecthood, and color theory into a singular, unmistakable form.
Each painting requires months to complete. The exhibition—comprised of four paintings and a museum-quality print—represents nearly a year of sustained labor. Focused and deliberate, Chromatic Fields offers a concentrated view into the discipline and evolution of Pott’s practice.
Chromatic Fields opens Saturday, April 11 and will remain on view through May 23.
