DOT b. 1990
DOT (Daniel Shoykhet), an American-born artist raised in New York and Chicago, is known for his hand-generated visual interference style, drawing inspiration from 20th-century abstract expressionism and Op Art. Using repeating geometric patterns and color theory, he creates hallucinatory fields that challenge perception and engage neuroplasticity, inviting shifts in thought and experience.
Self-taught, DOT relies on instinct to guide his practice. His breakout mural with the B_Line project led to a residency at TimeOut Market Chicago, and he has since created murals and studio works for the University of Illinois, Bruce Lurie Gallery in Los Angeles, and numerous private commissions.
